Abstract
Since the very beginning of psychoanalysis, case reporting has been the most important and vital tool in the developmnet of psychoanalysis. We cannot imagine the field of psychoanalysis without Dora, Anna O, Little Hans, Wolfman and Ratman. Case reports enhance not only our understanding of theory, but also improve communication among colleagues and further their education. There are many factors to be considered in case writing. The authors introduced the history of ¡®psychoanalytic case writing¡¯ in the era of Freud and discussed his idea In addition, the various goals of case writing, such as learning, supervision, research and tests were presented. Through detailed consideration of case material, we can discover the countertransference issues of writers and application of transcendental cognition of theory to case material. It is very important to consider many of the factors involved in case writing in psychoanalysis.
